We are always looking for new members to add to our Independence family of volunteers! In order to volunteer, you must be at least 16 years old and be able to provide your own transportation to and from events. For questions about younger volunteers, please contact Debbie Little, Program Director, by phone: (205) 368-7087 or email: firstname.lastname@example.org.
If you have a special craft or talent you would like to share or you enjoy being an extra set of hands during a fun activity, please consider volunteering with us. We offer a quarterly Volunteer Training Session to prepare new volunteers for the wonderful experience at Independence Place. Once you have completed the Volunteer Applicaton you will be notified of the next available training session.
When you become a volunteer at Independence Place, you become a friend to the participants. A peer who enjoys games, a co-worker on gardening and art projects, a cheerleader in sporting events, a buddy traveling around town and someone who just loves to listen and laugh. While you are here, you will make a difference!
If you wish to become a volunteer at Indpendence Place, please complete the Volunteer Application. You will also need to print the Volunteer Handbook and sign the Volunteer Release (last page). Return the completed application and signed Volunteer Release to the following address or scanned via e-mail:
